The governors and staff have developed a vision for the curriculum at George Grenville Academy which the whole school are currently working towards.
The Vision for the Curriculum
Grenville provides an ‘outstanding’ thematic, knowledge-rich curriculum that excites, inspires and drives pupils’ learning through a stimulating learning environment, first-hand experiences and varied wider opportunities.
Our curriculum is designed to engage all pupils, providing them with a thirst for knowledge and opportunity. As pupils move up the school, they constantly reflect upon on past learning and are able to articulate how their knowledge and skills are progressing. The curriculum encourages pupils to develop resilience and independence in their learning.
Where appropriate, our curriculum is reflective of local, national and international issues, providing pupils with the knowledge and understanding with which to confidently challenge the world around them.
Our curriculum is not limited by the constraints of the National Curriculum; it provides a breadth and depth of learning possibilities, to inspire children and ignite a desire for skills and knowledge that will follow them through their secondary education and their lives beyond. All stakeholders have a clear understanding of what every pupil at George Grenville Academy is entitled to, no matter what their lived experience.
